My Debut Column for PJ Media: How to Convert a Democrat!
Think movie scene: a restaurant anywhere in America. A group of five female friends are sitting around talking — three are Democrats, two are Republicans. At a table with no salt shaker and a Michelle Obama-approved menu, the Democrats’ conversation starts like this:
Can you believe the Republicans are taking away our contraception?
This dialogue quickly deteriorates into a misinformed, Obama-fueled fiasco: the wicked “one percent”, the “fairness” of free health care, equal outcomes rather than equal opportunities, etc.
The Republican women look at each other with an unspoken, secret “OMG“, yet they do what conservatives do best: remain conservative. As the Democrat women ramble on about the inequality and wickedness of America — taking no heed that anyone else at the table could possibly disagree with them — the conservative women remain silent.
How to convert a Republican:
Take all of their money away. Drop them off on a street corner in any major city within the United States. Leave them only the clothes on their backs.
They will look fearfully at the other poor people of this nation, whose jobs, dreams, and security have been sold and mortgaged to the enemies of this nation, by the traitorous 1%.
Fast forward six weeks, as the former Republican, now a bit thinner, hungrier, and more desperate, lines up for unemployment and welfare, and is denied for being too “lazy.”
Fast forward six months, as the former Republican is found marching with the “Occupy” movement, protesting the betrayal of the nation by the traitorous 1%.
The moral of this story?
Take the millions away from a Republican, you now have a Democrat.
Give millions to a Democrat? Now you have a rich Democrat . . .
Who is the real traitor?
