Czars Is the Enemy in the Field?

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

Czars. Is the Enemy in the Field?

Weight does not show one ounce at a time. It is only when the gradual, insidious accumulation has taken place that one looks at the maladjusted balance of the scales and wonders, what happened?

So it goes with the loss of liberty. Rarely is it a sudden reach of usurpations but a bit by bit maneuvering. Subtlety savors the loins of power. The wolf waits in the wings for the fattened calf.

In America it has taken a century. Slowly men, who are not angels and are victim to the whims of power, have thought themselves more wise than the Constitution, with more guise than God.

It started primarily with Woodrow Wilson who thought that his intellectualism tipped the balance of government in his favor. He knew better than the collective reason of the people. Fiddlesticks to the notion that the “genius of the people” epitomized liberty and sustained republicanism, as Publius believed.

Sound familiar?

The Constitution was an obstacle that could be overcome by the perpetual elusive tactics of avoidance coupled with the pamphlet of a new mantra – “Government knows best.” A pervasive propaganda echoed throughout the land – a wise, resilient executive is decisively more productive than a representative form of government. This executive, this king, needed more latitude, more money and czars.

Not only did Woodrow Wilson instill “czars,” who were unelected and unapproved by the Senate, violating Article 11, Section 2 of the United States Constitution, he also instigated two of the most intrusive and far reaching amendments America has known to date. Under Wilson’s tenure the 16th and 17th amendments were ratified and restructured, not only the basic thesis of the Constitution, but the power of the government.

What does a budding tyrant need to permeate the land with his persuasion? He needs less structure, or stricture, and more riches. With the 16th amendment, an earthquake to the foundation of our revolution, the federal income tax gave the executive and his cabinet more ability to mandate compliance. By shifting the reliance of the people from self- determination to government dependency, the federal government mushroomed. The people acquiesced their rights to the enticements of redistribution of wealth. At first it seemed innocent but bit-by-bit the kings treasure chest was filled with his constituents.

Sound familiar?

The next step in the stair step to tyranny was to censor the rights of the states. The 17th amendment lassoed the states into compliance by literally stripping them of their sovereignty. The state legislatures no longer had a voice.

Thus, in two fell swoops the structure of our government was altered, restructuring and restricting forever the liberties of the people. The budding tyrant now had money, power and a private court.

In a bizaare absence of reason, and with a lack of knowledge as to why our founding fathers shed their blood, the American people acquiesced many of their rights, liberties and freedoms, not realizing that these men sought to change America.

Sound familiar?

Today, we deal with another kind of “hope and change.” The balance of government has insidiously swayed away from the people. The burden of the weight of unwieldy government regulation and dangerous debt brings us to the brink of total collapse. We face many challenges.

Reversing the 16th and 17th amendments is unattainable but ridding the executive branch of czars is within reason. Sequentially, Presidents have continued with the rite of czars from Wilson to FDR, Nixon to Bush. The most prolific appointer of czars to date is President Obama. He has appointed 48 and has another 18 waiting in the wings. Thus, we have come full circle, Wilson and Obama, two Ivy League, Princeton and Harvard, academics who fundamentally believe that the country would be better off if it were simply left to their “elegant, academic” way of governing with no nasty and bothersome fingerprints from the legislative and judicial branch – policy men, who liberally appointed and appoint constitutionally forbidden and unapproved czars.

Constitutional violations of this magnitude are dangerous and have the characteristics to be the tipping point that implodes the Republic.  With no accountability regarding who is wandering around in the White House, is the enemy in our field? We have no way of knowing unless the czars are thoroughly vetted as stipulated in our Constitution.

Along with the insurmountable debt, record high unemployment, a great recession, and continual threats to our national security, the czar situation is equally as profound.

We the people have an obligation to hold our branches of government accountable.

Trepidation about Czars is not a partisan issue. Democrats Russ Feingold and Diane Feinstein questioned the wisdom and Democratic Senator and Constitutional scholar Robert Byrd expressed to Obama, “The rapid and easy accumulation of power by White House staff can threaten the Constitutional system of checks and balances. At the worst, White House staff have taken direction and control of programmatic areas that are the statutory responsibility of Senate-confirmed officials.”

In September of 2009, the Czar Accountability and Reform Act of 2009, was introduced by Representative Jack Kingston (GA). The intent of the Act was to curb the accumulation of Czars by prohibiting taxpayer money from being used to employ “any task force, council, or similar office which is established by or at the direction of the President and headed by an individual who has been inappropriately appointed to such position (on other than an interim basis), without the advice and consent of the Senate.”

The United States Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution concluded that appointing Czars was acceptable.

The issue was once again raised in the United Stated House in 2011 but has yet to make an impact.

We need to contact our representatives to seek the status of this bill and pressure them to persevere this cause. We must also question our Republican Presidential Candidates about this issue. What are their intentions regarding czars? We need to know their perspectives on these unelected, unofficial, yet powerful and potentially dangerous positions.

Today, as we seek to chisel away at the enormity of the federal government that has besieged us and sucked the life out of our liberties, dignity, economy, and self-determination, dealing with the issue of czars is of paramount importance to our national security, the preservation of our country, and the future of Americans.

The czars are like stones in the scales of justice. One stone at a time, the perceptibility is minimal but suddenly the stones will accumulate and   the scales will break.

” ‘Do Damage’ Democrats”

Do Damage Democrats

October 15, 2011

Make no mistake, President Obama, the ultimate community organizer has a plan. He crafted one of his of self described “elegant, academic” policies, the American Jobs Act, and he knew it would be dead upon arrival in Congress. He did this, not because it was best for the country, but because he knew, when the reasonable Republicans balked, he could build a 2012 election campaign around Harry Truman’s tired old campaign slogan, “Do Nothing Republicans.”

Obama hopes this sound bite, “Do Nothing Republicans,” along with his “organizing” tactics, such as inspiring class warfare, which has resulted in his premeditated, “Occupy Wall Street,” will result in a win in 2012 – and it just may.

To negate the “Occupy Wall Street” movement simply as a bunch of, “Do Nothing No Goods,” is naive. There is a mission and it is to sub-plant democracy with socialism. “Occupy America,” the take over of our democracy, is propelled by the engine of union involvement, not to mention, Obama’s rich corporate buddies such as George Soros.

Corporate greed is acceptable when it benefits Obama’s cause.

If the hypocrisy of ObamaPolitics isn’t enough to frighten Americans then the “Occupy Wall Street” movement should be. I call them the “Do Damage Democrats,” and whether they are in the White House, Congress, or supinely “occupying” the neighborhood park, they should not be taken lightly. The word Occupy means to “take over.” The dam of the constitution, which holds back anarchy, is vulnerable and the checks on the division of powers are in grave jeopardy.

Obama used, “Hope and Change” as his 2008 campaign slogan and Americans hoped for a change that would bring unity in government. Instead it brought a substantial “change” in government, socialistic policies. What will “Occupy Wall Street” bring us? I say, “Occupy America.” The writing is on Wall Street.

The “Do Not Republicans” slogan must be countered with “Do Damage Democrats.” Here are some of the consequences resulting from the “Do Damage Democrats” by the Numbers, as compiled by the Republican National Committee:

  1. $4.2 Trillion added to the National Debt Since Obama took Office ((U.S. Treasury Department, Accessed 10/6/11)
  2. $2.6 Trillion The True Cost of Obamacare once Fully Implemented
(Office Of The Speaker Of The U.S. House Of Representatives, Report, 1/6/11)
  3. $1.75 Trillion Annual Cost of Federal Regulations (Small Business Administration, September 2010)
  4. $1.17 Trillion True cost of Obama’s First Stimulus with Interest (CBO, 8/24/11, CBO, 1/27/09)
  5. $1.17 Trillion American Debt Held by China (U.S. Treasury Department, Accessed 10/6/11)
  6. $825 Billion Price Tag of Obama’s First Failed Stimulus (CBO, 8/24/11)
  7. $575 Billion Amount of Medicare Cuts in Obamacare (CMS Chief Actuary Richard S. Foster, Memo, 4/22/10) (Who is pushing Granny of the cliff?)
  8. $447 Billion Price Tag of Obama’s Second Stimulus (WhiteHouse.gov, 9/8/11)
  9. $347.1 Billion Debt Service Costs to Pay for Obama’s First Stimulus (CBO, 1/27/09)
  10. $175 Billion Increased Spending in Obama’s Second Stimulus (CBO, 10/5/11)
  11. $81.9 Million Annual Paperwork Burden Hours Imposed by Regulators in 2011 (American Action Network, 9/30/11)
  12. 46.2 Million Record Number of Americans Living in Poverty (U.S. Census Bureau, 9/13/11)
  13. 45.3 Million Record Number of Americans Receiving Food Stamps (Department Of Agriculture, 9/29/11)
  14. 14.0 Million Unemployed Americans (Bureau of Labor Statistics, Accessed 10/7/11)
  15. 3.4 Million Workers Granted Waivers so that Obamacare Would Not Outlaw Their Healthcare Plan (HHS.gov, Accessed 10/6/11)
  16. 2.6 Million Number of Americans That Fell into Poverty Between 2009 and 2010 (U.S. Census Bureau, 9/13/11)
  17. 2.2 Million Jobs Lost Since Obama took Office (Bureau of Labor Statistics, Accessed 10/7/11)\
  18. 1.59 Million Personal Bankruptcies in 2010 (United States Courts, 2/15/11)
  19. $1.5 Million Stimulus Funds Sent to Indonesia to Discourage Air Pollution in Jakarta (The Daily Caller, 7/7/11)
  20. 1.0 Million Americans That Have Given Up Looking for Work (Bureau of Labor Statistics, Accessed 10/7/11)

The “damaging” numbers are indefatigable.

1. $48,120 Your Share of The National Debt (U.S. Treasury Department Accessed 10/6/11; U.S. Census Bureau, Accessed 10/6/11)

2. $15, 500 Annual Cost Per Household of Federal Regulations (Small Business Administration, September 2010)

Startling Numbers:

1. 1,578 Number of Waivers Granted to Unions and Business So That ObamaCare Would Not Outlaw Their Health Care Plans (HHS.gov, Accessed 10/6/11)

2. 1,000 Number of Jobs Obama’s National Labor Relations Board is Trying to Kill in South Carolina (The Denver Post, 5/2/11)

“Do Damage Democrats” have taken a toll not only financially but they have also inflicted a malaise upon the general spirit of Americans.

81% of Americans are dissatisfied with the way things are going. (Quinnipiac Poll, 2118 RV, MoE 2.1%, 9/27-10/3/11)

American Republicanism cannot sustain another four years of “Do Damage Democrats.” Our Constitution cannot withstand another four years of “Do Damage Democrats.” Our freedoms and liberties cannot withstand another four years of “Do Damage Democrats.” America cannot withstand another four years of “Do Damage Democrats.”

The choice is stark: Occupy America or Save America. Which will it be? The Obama campaign and his “Do Nothing Republicans” slogan must be curtailed with a sharp, crisp and coherent counter: “Do Damage Democrats.”

Reason must prevail.

As Thomas Jefferson said,

“If there be any among us who would wish to dissolve this union, or to change its republican form, let them stand undisturbed as monuments of the safety with which error of opinion may be tolerated, where reason is left free to combat it.”

Success – A Social Crime

Success – A Social Crime

October 13, 2011

Success has become taboo. Leadership has become unfair. Reason has become politically incorrect and money has become malevolent.

Monochromatic is the theme. Mute is the desire. Mundane is the mission and control is the goal.

Where do we live? America?

In a recent New York Times article James Atlas ridicules the “Super People.” The students who have worked hard and achieved much are taunted in his article like a bully in the schoolyard. According to Mr. Atlas, the “Super People” are only successful because of frustrated helicopter moms or because they stretch the truth on their applications. “Super People” are super weird. The “Super People” made great grades, excelled in sports, and/or music, and contributed to country and society with social service. Losers. Oh, and they only succeeded because their mother made them do it, or they were rich – the 1%.

Where do we live? America?

We are a country that was built on true grit, hard work and a desire to soar on eagle’s wings. Drunk on freedom and free from the chains of tyranny, immigrants were inspired to reach for the sky and seek success. They labored and toiled, passionately pursuing their dreams. Liberty was a gift from God. Talent was admired. Success was revered. Public service was not only a virtue but inherent.

Children from broken homes, poverty, and despair had the opportunity to reach and seek higher ground. Our history is literally filled with examples of young students who studied meticulously, read voraciously and worked many jobs at the same time. Exertion and perseverance were synonymous with American pride and dignity.

Candice Millard, brings to life a stunning example of such attributes in her biography of the often forgotten President, James A. Garfield. He was born in a log cabin and fatherless by the age of one. He worked many jobs to put himself through school. At preparatory school, he studied so diligently he was promoted from janitor to assistant professor. At age twenty-six, he later returned to be the school’s President and passed the Ohio bar in his free time. His adult life mirrored his youth with ardent service to his country and countrymen in combat, Congress and as President.

Other such over achiever kids were George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King. Today, they would be considered “Super People.” Today, they would be muted and shamed for their desire to speak their thoughts, acknowledge their God, seek seemingly attainable goals and God-forbid, win. Today, they would be labeled Mama’s boys, demeaned as privileged, constrained as prejudiced or taunted as eggheads.

Yet, just imagine America without them. Without them, there would be no America.

Is the design of the liberal elite? No America?

We are dangerously on the brink.

James A. Garfield was taught by his mother to “walk with his shoulders squared and his head thrown back.” He was proud to be an American. America gave him the opportunity to achieve his destiny.

Today we teach our kids to hide their heads in the sand like ostriches.

Our children are taught to hold their head down in silence and shame. America is not exceptional. God is not good. Winning is self-indulgent. Succeeding in business is unfair. “Be the 99%.”

Is this America?
